Workshop: Waste management in South-Eastern Countries

The scope of this workshop is to show the results obtained from the SWAP (Sustainable solid WAste management and Policies) project, which aim is to support capacity building in higher education in the field of solid waste management as well as technical and vocational training of waste practitioners in Vietnam, Thailand and Cambodia. In this context, an overview of the current waste management status of these countries and the outcomes from the SWAP project will be presented. In particular, the case of the teaching materials provided by the HOOU platform is an actual example. Finally, some technical examples will be shown to estimate the effectiveness of how an upgrade in the waste management system can generate benefit to the system.
